Navigation | Rules | FAQ | Taken | Reserves | ApplyApplication Limits & Character Caps
Any caps?
- Two apps per player per round.
- Apps open every two months for two weeks.
- A hard cast cap of 12 characters per franchise. (IE: Pokemon, Transformers, Marvel, The Untamed/MDZS, Fate/, Final Fantasy, etc)
- A limit of five characters per player
- A limit of two characters per franchise per player.
At this point in time, there are no plans to raise any of the caps.
Appable Characters?
Allowed:
- Canon AU (case by case basis)
- Fan-made AUs (all kinds are accepted)
- Original Characters
- Canon OCs
- CRAUs with at a min. of 6 months of in-game CRAU.
Disallowed:
- Fresh-from canon characters
- Real people (past or present).
- Setting native characters. (For now)
Case-by-case basis:
- Characters younger than ten. This is to ensure player comfort. IE: Stewie from Family Guy would probably be accepted, but Tommy from Rugrats would likely not be accepted.
- Canon OCs related a canon character. They MUST be linked to an in-game AU and all of that AU must vouch for them, or they will be rejected.
- CRAUs with less than 6 months will be considered on a case by case basis.
Doubles?
Yes! Doubles are allowed as long as both memories and personalities are noticeably different. That said, the fae will be giving Doubles nicknames and characters are welcome to beg them to change these.
If we end up with 12 Tony Starks as the MCU cast, then we have 12 Tony Starks as the MCU cast and we get to see how many ways Tony can be spelled.
Non-human characters? Will they be humanised?
Non-human characters need not be humanised on arrival, though the player may choose to play with the mechanic if they want.
The optional mechanic is that non-humans are humanised for the first 24 hrs only while the fae work to fix this mistake. Once it wears off, they are returned to their original self and size without issue. They will get clothes while human, but what kind is up to the player, so be as silly or as serious as you desire.
This mechanic might also trigger on revival or canon update if the player wants.
It may also be permanent if the player wants. Basically, outside the duration, this mechanic is as flexible as the player wants it to be.
Can I canon/power update my character?
For canon updates, a character must be in-game for two IC months, with a minimum update time of one IC day.
Power updates are not allowed at this point in time. Sorry about that.
Mechanics
Who is Navi-No?
The AI of the ship. It's a very helpful, if literal AI that is probably not Chat-gpt/The Windows Paperclip given life. (Played by a real human ofc)
Though, helpful or not, it will not allow you to gain control of the bridge. You are Not Authorised Personnel, and it is Authorised to defend the bridge with way too many weapons and it will kill you.
What about Test Drive Memes?
One will go up every so often, but these are not considered canon to the game. It is however recommended you use them to get samples for the game.
What if I don't want my character to be recognised by a CRAU or 4th walled?
The fae can do a lot of things, and making A be a formless doll to B's perception (until CR is had) is one of them, along with enforcing a 4th wall type of effect. Just make sure to use the player's opt-out post to make it known this is what you want.
Death?
All characters are spat back out of the Portal 1 to 2 IC days after death. The same with pets and pokemon.
It's probably best not to ask where the bodies go - or why you have an oversized rainbow onesie on OVER your clothes.
Are pets/pokemon/summons etc allowed?
If you want to bring them in, by all means! The same goes for if your character has a baby (under 2 years old) they are responsible for.
Just note them on the app!
Pokemon Trainers can bring up to six Pokémon, provided they would not be appable characters in their own right.
Why humans/dolls???
Hyperfixations. Are you really going to tell a fae they are wrong :O?
What about mechas/vehicles of any other kind?
Sorry, but you cannot currently bring your Gundam or car or battleship with you. The fae bringing you here are pretty sure you don’t need that, right? Right?
Will you have regains?
It's possible this could happen in the future.
I want to leave the Noanga!
Sure, no one is stopping you from going off and living as a space farmer. However, characters are tethered to the Noanga and must remain in proximity to it, or they will become atoms or slime or goo, slowly disintegrating until they either die or are brought back to the ship.
Will powers and magic be nerfed?
Yes, there will be nerfing on a case-by-case basis to prevent game-breaking abilities from breaking the game. That said, players are trusted to self-nerf their characters appropriately and will be asked how they intend to do this on the app.
As an example, someone with the ability to open portals to other dimensions will find while they can open portals, they now lead to somewhere in the galaxy.
Another example would be that of a lv 100 Pokémon; it would be scaled down to about that of a level 20.
What about powers connected to a character's homeworld/previous game?
I'm open to working with players to find solutions. Maybe the fae are powering them, or maybe one of the Ancient Elder Great Old Ones is powering it or maybe they just work because the character expects it.
Do characters arrive with their inventory?
Characters arrive with whatever they were carrying, but not large items like cars or mechs or battleships.
Just be reasonable about it, please.
Language?
Somehow you all understand each other. It's not perfect, but it seems to work. For now, at least.
With effort, characters can speak their native language/s to others.
Spoilers?
Keep it at a reasonable wait time before you app or include them in your AU. Not everyone wants to know X killed A. That said, the onus is on players to respect each other and avoid spoilers if they do not want them.
I do, however, reserve the right to implement a waiting period for new canons at any time.
Pace & Structure
What's the IC to OOC ratio like? Game calendar?
2:1! That is two OOC days = one IC day.
The aim is for a relaxed game, but I reserve the right to shift this to a 3:1 if it is felt the game has grown beyond what can reasonably be handled in terms of pacing.
ICly, days on Noanga are on a roughly 25 hr long cycle. It's up to characters to decide on weeks and months, as there is no analog to any Earth-based calendar. That said, characters will find there is always a 10-day weather report, strangely accurate despite being on a spaceship.
You did want that month of rain, or the heatwave, or random snow in what should be summer, yes?
Will there be mod-run plot?
There is a background mod-plot and when it comes up, it will be announced a month in advance to give everyone time to sign up or prep for it. That said, Mod-run plots will involve the use of some D&D-lite elements, like dice, to add an element of chance to things.
In the meantime, player-led plots are highly encouraged to help build up the game's lore.
IE: You want there to be an alien salt mine planet that needs its salt 'liberated'? Do it! Do it!
What are the Activity Check Requirements?
AC is 20 comments over a two-month period.
AC will go up on the last week of each two-month period, and there are several methods accepted.
1. One post + ten of your comments in a separate thread.
2. Threads from three to five different characters, totalling to 20 comments from you.
3. Two open posts.
Posts can be any combination of Logs and Network, and must have at least ten replies from you on each.
IC inbox threads are NOT accepted as proof of activity.
Is there a network?
Yep! Though it's a bit.... hodge-podge.
The properties of the Bangle are as follows:
- Video; 0.35 megapixels. Not the best and certainly not up to 2025 standards.
- Text; does not include spell check. Extremely basic, like you would find on phones from the 90’s. HTML can and will fail!
- Audio; a bit grainy, but serviceable for the most part.
- Games: Solitaire and Snake are the only games on it.
- A list of All Characters currently in-game. First names only!
- Distress Beacon: What it says on the tin. Contact the mod if you press this!
You can hack, mark things as private(ish), but it's rudimentary and attempts to make it better will (currently) be met with failure.
Also you might end up turned into a pot plant. Or come down with a case of coughing up flowers. Or something like that.
Can my tech interface with the Bangle?
No, sorry, not unless you wish to brick your tech. Even the most sophisticated of tech from your worlds isn't designed to interface with whatever the ship uses to communicate.
As for charging it, you can probably find something of an analogue, though there is the risk of frying the tech until a techy person builds something better.
Any attempts to create a better network will see Navi-No 'helpfully' dismantle them while sounding like the Paperclip from Windows.

The ship is fae-space, technically speaking, but these fae have kinda just left everyone to their own devices, so the Mask will function as you desire while he is on the ship. Want the first way in the morning but the second way after lunch? Sure!
Maybe the fae is supporting it re the power working, or it works because Jules expects it to. Or maybe he's now the unknowing blorbo of a god.

Things like scars, any missing parts, etc., since they at least aren't life-threatening injuries that would harm the character if not treated. Only if the player wants it to happen, of course!
But if it's possible it'd be a good jumping-off point to consider. Especially since in Looma's case it'd really, really annoy her to lose her first real battle scars (and would likely never let anyone hear the end of it).
no subject
Alas, the fae can't put and healed scars or injuries back once they are healed. So Looma is free to recreate getting them if she likes!
Network and Names List question
Given the nature of the Fae, if Bucky thinks something isn't his name, would it still be processed/shown in the Bangle interface as if it were? Or are all posts essentially anonymous, and the list is just kind of There?
no subject
Whether Bucky knows that's his name is up to the player in question.

Is she appable? She's not related to anyone, but her partner's ward is the daughter of Heimdall and a deity from another pantheon.
The other question I have is probably answered 'no'. A character I play in a friend's tabletop RPG set in Fire Emblem: Three Houses was an orphan raised by her grandmother, and discovered in game that she was the daughter of Margrave Gautier and his first wife. In the canon, it was established the Gautier's pregnant first wife died due to a border raid. In our game, she'd been left to die, and witnesses were unable to save her but saved the baby via C-section, and didn't know enough to establish the baby's parentage.
My instinct is that even if 'what if the child survived, but the Gautiers didn't know about it' is an AU, that the character themself is effectively a canon OC, so not appable as 'a canon OC related to several canon characters'. But I thought I'd check.
no subject
2 - again, should be appable as that would be considered an AU to the main canon, more so if the related characters are not aware of her, or later become aware of her, thus changing canon, which is what I would assume happens in a TTRPG.

Approval Details Question
The jewel is what's on the bangle (I am assuming), but what does the phrase mean?

COLOR CODING
Also, what would happen if any magical attempts are made on it
because some people just want to be color-coordinated.no subject
Depends - trying to change the physical traits of the jewel itself will fail. Placing a glamour on it should be okay though, as long as Donnie replaces it every OOC month.
Painting it is also an option.

Day/Night Cycle
Re: Day/Night Cycle

That said, he won't have to go in far to get a very general history of the place.
- It was once part well maintained park and part hobby farm for all kinda of non-fae plants and fauna! Alien llama guarded the farm animals, including pigs.
- At the centre of the park was a fancy golden fountain.
- There are real sunlight-simulating panels up in the ceiling and the oldest trees remember crew picnicking among alien orchids, or helping to tend the fruit terraces and medicinal herb gardens maintained by the Garden Crew.
- One day people just stopped coming, and over time, the Jungle grew into what it is: something dangerous and untamed.
- There might be a Void Fruit somewhere in the deepest parts of the Jungle, or something that feels like one at least...

Depending on the day they are fixed, the Food Replicators randomness with the food won't stop, but they will at least give what is asked, or attempt to. Ice cream nutri-cubes anyone?

Food Processor Question!
Would his approach as a digital being have a different impact from what Donnie is doing, or will he hit the same metaphorical walls?
Re: Food Processor Question!
He may make a copy of the code for his own personal use, but he cannot apply patches or updates or fixes of any kind. Attempts to override/by-pass this will bring Navi-No down on him.
Attempts to untangle the code will take at least an IC week, but probably closer two an IC month.

In very few Pokemon games, there are Pokemon considered 'Alpha Pokemon'. Unlike Mega Pokemon, or high-end examples such as Paradox Pokemon or UBs, these Pokemon are for the most part still examples of their type species.
They're just proportionally larger. (To that end, small Pokemon like say, Dedenne, are still shorter than the player character's waist.) ...Well, they also have three perfect IVs but that's not really something I would consider a factor when normal Pokemon can have that going on. (Heck with very little work, any pokemon can have SIX perfect IVs. KIDS THESE DAYS!)
At any rate, the question is - would Alpha Pokemon be allowed on the Noanga?

Tech question!
(There's a basic run down of his AU on this journal, I WILL be expanding it in the future.)
My actual question is about his tech. Over his fifteen years of surviving and scouring the universe for his lost brothers, he's studied and integrated a lot of ultra-advanced alien tech into the already high-tech a Donnie is capable of making. He has what's called the 'Dragon Armour', a full tech suit that allows him to orbital-drop to a planet if necessary and is as chock full of weapons and tech as you can imagine a Donatello would put into basically an all over Battle Shell.
It also contains it's own AI system. It's known as 'Draconus' and is probably much like Navi-No but simpler (and not remotely fae powered lol). It keeps his ship running, does navigation and data collection, and is a friend he talks to that sort of thing. Drac isn't capable of anything powerful, it's more of a convenience AI? Think if you took SIRI, SHELLDON and JARVIS and mixed them together. Keeps track of a lot of things, can cause some small, very basic 'hacking' mischief if told to but not capable of doing on it's own, really.
Would Othello be allowed to still have both of these? I know his ship and his planetside bike can't come with him but the armour is about on the level of an Iron Man suit (with the added flair of a Rise Donnie). Drac would be contained to within the armour/arm gauntlet as well.
Also Othello's canon diverged at a point before his Ninpo was awakened, so his crazy high-tech mystical mumbo-jumbo doesn't exist for him. He doesn't even know what it is.
Re: Tech question!
Though, there is every chance he will get a small dragon plush on arrival. Just because :)

also if an oc from one fandom thrown into pokemon world and then to nonaga, would a rotom phone be considered equipment or a team member
no subject
That sounds like it would be allowed!
Hmm. Provided the rotom within the phone will never battle, I would rule it as a device that can be brought along outside the six pokemon limit. However, if you would use the rotom within the phone to battle, it would count towards the six pokemon limit.

1. How accessible is the Noanga, especially for wheelchairs? I see that there are lifts between the floor at least.
2. In my AU, Leo is very close to Donnie's AI, Shelldon, who also helps run a lot of tech for Leo. Technically Shelldon has a personality and sentience, so he might count as an appable character, but I thought I'd ask if it would be possible to bring Shelldon in as a companion for Leo?
no subject
2 - Shelldon is very much a borderline case here and his coming would depend on how much of Leo's tech he runs.

1) Does the network/bangle whatever have a directory or does it just show names of people when they post to it?
2) If yes, does it have their full name? Or whatever they're known by?
3) Can Donnie interface with the bangle with his Gauntlet/what would be the result if he attempted such?
no subject
1 - It has a directory!
2 - full names - in the case of any doubles, people get to see how creative the fae can be when spelling names. It's fun!
3 - he can attempt it, but the coding will give him a headache and he'll likely end up with all the Error Codes more often than not. Navi-No will only take issue if Donnie tries to fork a network that isn't the BangleNet.
